Health Cubed Leadership Forum
Supporting Practical Leadership in the Evolving NHS

About the event
Delivering Realistic Medicine at Scale brings together Board, regional and local leaders from across health and care to explore how the principles of Realistic Medicine can be translated into practical, system-wide delivery.
This is not a policy-focused conference. It is a highly interactive and solutions-oriented day designed to support delegates to move from strategy into action — taking ideas, learning and practical approaches back into their own organisations and systems.
Importantly, the agenda has been developed in partnership with a steering group of NHS experts from across Scotland to ensure the content reflects the real challenges, priorities and opportunities facing systems today. The programme has been shaped by those working directly within Boards and regional services, helping to ensure discussions remain grounded in practical delivery, operational realities and shared learning.
Through real-world case studies, multidisciplinary discussion and practical workshops, the meeting will focus on what is already working across Scotland and how successful approaches can be adapted and scaled locally.
Agenda & Learning Objectives
Key themes throughout the day include:
-
medicines optimisation as a driver of sustainable care
-
prevention and population health
-
reducing unwarranted variation
-
pathway redesign and service renewal
-
prioritisation and value-based care
-
multidisciplinary leadership across systems
-
homecare and care closer to home
Delegates will leave with:
-
practical learning from successful Board and regional examples
-
opportunities to share challenges and solutions with peers
-
ideas and approaches that can be applied immediately within their own organisations
-
a clearer understanding of how Realistic Medicine can support practical improvement at scale
Above all, the day is intended to create space for honest, constructive and forward-looking discussion about how we deliver higher-value, more sustainable care across Scotland.
